Research and Residents' Research Day
Though primarily a community hospital, York Hospital has a long tradition of active research projects. The Emig Research Center provides support staff in statistical methodology and basic science benchwork for residents interested in presenting clinical or biological research during their residency. Each May, there is a Residents' Research Day where house staff present their research projects. Participation has grown over the years. In 2017, there were thirty-one oral presentations and thirty-two poster presentations.
Institutional support is provided for residents who are invited to present their research at meetings and the time spent away from the residency is not deducted from vacation time.
