The Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Bureau of EMS recently announced that they have appointed a WellSpan Health Residency graduate as the next State EMS Medical Director.

Dr. Daniel Bledsoe, a 2004 WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency graduate, has been serving in the role since January 30, 2023. Dr. Bledsoe has been a member of the EMS community since attending high school in 1989, when he joined his local fire department. 

The York County resident has been a physician in South Central Pennsylvania, serving as an EMS agency medical director for several EMS agencies, held an active role in the Emergency Health Services Federation (EHSF) Medical Advisory Committee, and assisted in working groups during COVID-19. 

We want to congratulate Dr. Bledsoe for this tremendous achievement and thank him for his dedication and advocacy for the EMS system.
