Dr. Chahal is the Director of the Center for Inherited Cardiovascular diseases, a clinical electrophysiologist and is a clinician scientist leading translational research on sudden death syndromes and genetic cardiac disease. He did his internal medicine training at Kings College and is board certified with the Royal College of Physicians. He did his cardiology fellowship and inherited cardiovascular disease training at University College London and Bart’s Heart Centre as well as cardiac critical care at St. George’s Hospital in London. He completed a PhD in Sudden Death in Epilepsy at the Mayo Clinic and his electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He maintains adjunct research positions with the Mayo Clinic, University of Pennsylvania, Cambridge and Barts London. In addition to his research and clinical interests, Dr. Chahal has been working to make inherited cardiovascular diseases/precision medicine a recognized ACGME accredited training pathway.
